Where ArboStar is strong, and where we fit.

ArboStar is a serious contractor platform and it deserves credit for what it covers. The per-tree inventory was rebuilt in 2026. Crew dispatch runs on a live GPS map. There’s equipment and fleet, payroll, invoicing and payments, business intelligence, and a franchise module. If you run three or more crews and want one system for the whole business, ArboStar is a real product and a fair thing to look at.

The buying motion is the hard part. There’s no free trial and no self-service sign-up: you book a demo, then get a quote. The published floor is “from $250/month”, up from $150 in December 2025, and ArboStar’s own ROI calculator puts the typical cost at about $5,700 a year. The terms say fees are non-cancelable and non-refundable, your seat count can’t drop below 80% of what you started with, and the price can rise up to 10% a year after the first. Onboarding runs two to four weeks. One US App Store review of the ArboStar Plus app reads: “Off-line this app is completely useless.”

Where tree·canopy fits

If you run several crews and need fleet, payroll and dispatch in one system, ArboStar covers ground we don’t: fleet, payroll and a live dispatch map. What ArboStar doesn’t have is the survey itself: no voice dictation and no photo species ID have appeared in a release note through June 2026, RAI is still beta (its own /rai page currently returns a server error), and the product is English only: the French, Spanish and German websites are translated marketing, while the app, estimates, invoices and client portal stay in English. tree·canopy is the tree-work half: talk the inspection, get the structured record and the report, in seven languages, starting the day you sign up.
